Eight Months Old

Since I am usually rushing to keep the blog updated for every month of Ethan's first year of life, Isaac usually gets left out of most posts.

Here is a quick update on Isaac.  He has certainly turned three and found his three year old "personality" (attitude with a significant amount of whining).  Behind all that, he is still his sweet self.  He loves alone time with mommy which does not happen enough.  However, he started swim lessons again and we have been leaving Ethan home with Daddy so we can have "Mommy and Isaac" time.  It is a good thing he is doing lessons again because he is still scared of getting water in his eyes.  Isaac is also taking a class through the YMCA called "sporties for shorties."  They play all different sports and he enjoys playing with the other 8 boys in the class (no girls).  Girls can play sports too!  I was surprised that there were not any girls signed up for this class.

Isaac can count to 20 by ones and to 100 by tens.  We are working on letter sounds now that he can recognize the letters of the alphabet.  In the car now, he will see a sign, say all the letter and ask what the word spells.  He is so inquisitive now.

My favorite thing that he does right now is randomly say, "I love you Mommy!"  Then he runs and gives me a hug.  I sometimes think he says it sometimes just because he knows how I will react.

And now for Ethan!

Eight Months Old

At eight months, Ethan was sleeping from about 7:30 pm to 6:30 am but was still getting up once to eat around 3 or 4 am.  I was still giving him a good amount of purees because his digestive system was not completely keeping up.  We were doing finger foods as well but they were harder for him to digest.

Ethan was pulling up on toys and standing while holding on to things.  He started to talk quite a bit more and said Ma-ma occasionally.  He did not say it too much and it was not really directed toward me at all.  Isaac's world is continuing to change as Ethan gets into everything and loves to play with Isaac's toys.  He basically likes anything that he is not supposed to have.

Ethan got his second bottom tooth right before he turned eight months old.

Photo sessions with two boys is not easy.  I am also not patient enough to keep trying.  I get what I get in 20 seconds and that is it.  That is how I approach most things with these boys.  If you expect them to do anything for more than a few seconds, you are fooling yourself.

This is the true behind the scenes. You may be able to see that I took all of Ethan's "8" month photos just to realize that I put the 5 month block out.  It took me a few hours to realize that I did that.  I must have been thinking that it was the 5th of April when I was taking them.  Who knows?

Here is the 8 month block that Ethan decided was a good snack.
