Cutting down our Christmas tree

As I mentioned in the previous post, we went to cut down a Christmas tree with the relatives that were still in West Bend on Sunday.  It was a relatively warm weekend which was perfect for cutting down a tree.  Isaac wanted to cut down a big tree (he kept saying "big one").  We found a tree and then took it home to decorate it.  Isaac enjoyed putting the ornaments on the tree and he surprisingly does not take them off or bother it at all.  However, he asks me to turn the lights on almost immediately in the morning.  So far, he knows who Santa is and that he says "ho, ho, ho."  We are still trying to teach the significance of Christmas.  He does not quite understand it yet.

This is the tree that we selected, however, you cannot see much of it in this picture.

This one was not big enough.

Isaac wanted to drag it back to the car.

Our big helper.  He had to focus so hard to get the ornament to stay on the branch.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent the Thanksgiving weekend in West Bend with Mimi, Pa, the aunts and uncles and cousins!  We ate amazing food, played in the snow and even went to the tree farm to cut down a Christmas tree (coming in the next post).  It was so fun to see the cousins interact and play with each other.  They are all growing up so fast.

If only Mimi had more room on her lap.

Isaac always wants to be by Mimi.

The Music Man

Isaac has shown significant interest in music the last few months.  Ever since Mimi took him to story hour at the library where the teacher played a guitar, Isaac has strummed a shovel, rake, truck, etc. pretending it was a guitar.  We decided to give Isaac one of his Christmas presents early.  He loves his Mickey Mouse guitar!

I am not quite sure where he gets his musical "talent" from but he certainly takes it seriously.  He even sways and bobs his head like a pianist or a guitarist.  Let's hope he has more musical talent than Alex and me when he grows up (he might have already have surpassed our abilities).

Miss Evelyn Turns One!

Miss Evelyn is one!  We had so much fun celebrating with all the cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and Great Grandparents.  It was very special to have everyone together.  All the kids are getting so big!  After the weekend of celebrating, Isaac kept repeating Gigi, G-Pa, Gigi Pa (not sure why he started saying this).

G-Pa is silly.

All the kids want the presents.
