Play date and race

We had a play date with a few of my coworkers and their kids.  The little girls are both older and lighter than Isaac.  What a surprise?  Addison is almost nine months old and Sylvie is one week older than Isaac.  It was fun watching Addie crawl and get around while the other two tried to master sitting.  It is amazing what a few months can do.

My work hosts a walk and run that is a competition between the home office employees (roots) and the insurance agents (wings).  We did the walk with Isaac!  It was a beautiful but hot morning.

The sausages were there for the warm-up.

Messy Eater

We have been experimenting with different foods.  So far, Isaac has been willing to eat everything but it may have taken a few tries.  He has had avocado, sweet potato, green beans, bananas, apples and cereal.  He will get carrots next!  Sometimes I feel like he gets more on his face and bib than in his mouth but I am sure his weight and chunkiness will prove otherwise.

This doesn't taste like milk.

Trying to eat and bite his finger at the same time.

Isaac thinks it is funny when his Dad feeds him.

Half way to one!

Whenever I take Isaac's picture for his "month" milestone, I really only intend to post one picture.  However, I feel like I end up posting so many because they really show his personality and expressions.

I am excited and a little sad that he is already six months old.  I absolutely love this age but I kind of want him to stay a baby.  He has just started sleeping on his tummy, his toes are his favorite toy, he is getting much better at sitting up on his own, he is so cuddly, he is going down for naps in his crib with little to no crying and he gets so excited to see people.  There is nothing better than going in his room after his nap and seeing the smile on his face.

Isaac went to the doctor this week and he was 16 lbs 10 oz (35th percentile) and 26 inches tall (50th percentile).

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the six month old.

Meeting more relatives

This past week, Isaac got to meet many members of his extended family including: Ava, Mary, Beth, Jayne, Susan and Cathy!  Ava is two days younger than Isaac and at least a few pounds lighter.  It was so fun to watch them interact with each other.

Unfortunately, I am really bad at taking pictures and did not get any pictures of the other family members.  Sorry.

Ava felt like a feather compared to Isaac.

Celebrating Eli's birthday

We celebrated cousin Eli's second birthday a few weeks ago.  He received many fun toys including two bubble-blowing lawn mowers and multiple large bottles of bubbles.  With that said, I still think his favorite gift was the football as he carried it around the entire evening.  I cannot believe he is already two.

Here are a few pictures from the party and a few random pictures of Isaac.

I'm on a boat!

We spent a couple days at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's house over the fourth of July.  Dad had to go back to Milwaukee and work on Thursday and Friday so Isaac and I hung out in Madison.  Grandpa took Isaac on his first boat ride!  We figured that Isaac would hate the life jacket and therefore the boat ride was going to be rather short.  However, he did not fuss or even move a muscle once we put the life jacket on.  Perhaps, it was because he physically could not move once the life jacket was on.  I laid him on the back of the boat as it seemed more comfortable for him than trying to sit with the jacket on.  He was asleep within 30 seconds and slept the entire one and a half hour boat ride.  He is certainly like me in that regard!

Our friends Sally and Dakota came over to visit.  Dakota is eight months old in these pictures.  Isaac seems to be just about the same size as him but Isaac certainly feels quite a bit heavier.  It was fun to watch them interact!

Mmmmmmm...rice cereal

We decided to introduce rice cereal over the weekend. I am convinced that Isaac will eat/drink "anything" out of "anything."  He has always been a good eater and has never minded change.  He latched immediately after birth, drank from a bottle within a month, will drink relatively cold milk and does not seem to mind rice cereal.  Although, it was more or less eating milk off a spoon because I did not add too much cereal.  Besides a few funny faces and a couple spits, I would consider the first feeding a success.

Here is a video that capture his reaction.  I am first to admit that I have not mastered feeding and recording a video at the same time so I apologize for the shaking.
