Three Months Old

Ethan is already three months old.  It is hard for me to believe that he is only three months old since he is starting to wear nine month clothes and in size 3 diapers.  I weighed him today and he was pushing 17 pounds with clothes on.  Wow, Isaac was only 19.5 pounds at a year.

Ethan is starting to get quite the personality.  He is talking and giggling more now.  As you an imagine, he is not very patient when he is hungry.  He generally nurses every two hours during the day unless he is taking a long nap then he can push it to three or four hours.  If he takes a bottle, he can make it more like 3 hours.  He sleeps from about 9 to 3 and then is up between 6 and 7.  We have had quite a few stretches from 9 to 4 and also some where he is up at 1.  Children certainly keep you on your toes.

Ethan has quite a grip.  He loves to grab necklaces and hair and has been reaching for the toys on his bouncer and activity mat for a few weeks now.  It is truly amazing how fast they learn new things.  I am hoping he "learns" how to sleep through the night soon.  Perhaps, if we transition him to his own room that would help.

I took a few quick pictures before my camera died.  Poor planning on my part.

How do you get toddlers to smile without making a "cheesy" face?

Trick-or-Treat

This year I let Isaac choose what they would be for Halloween.  He said he wanted to be an animal.  When I asked him which one, he said he wanted to be an elephant and he wanted Ethan to be a giraffe.  I was surprised he chose those animals but quickly started looking for costumes.  Luckily, I remembered that I had a giraffe outfit that we got as a gift when Isaac was young.  It worked perfectly for the few number of times that Ethan dressed up.

Isaac was a big fan of trick-or-treating.  We had practiced and talked about it for weeks leading up to Halloween so he got the hang of it really fast.  We went trick-or-treating in Mimi and Pa's neighborhood the weekend before Halloween because the weather was beautiful.
